Grad to Work with UAMS on Health Disparities Research

Clinton School graduate Ashley Bachelder (‘12) recently accepted a job as a research associate at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Arkansas Center for Health Disparities Research.

Bachelder, who completed the concurrent MPS/MPH program with the UAMS College of Public Health, will help develop partnerships between UAMS and the community to facilitate faculty research and student learning opportunities.

The goal of the Arkansas Center for Health Disparities Research is to develop research to improve access to quality prevention and health care programs for racial and ethnic minorities with a goal of reducing health disparities.

A native of Athol, Mass., Bachelder has chosen to stay in Arkansas since completing her graduate studies. During her time at the Clinton School, she worked as a case management coordinator for Catholic Charities Immigration Services. She worked with the Women’s Resource Center of Cambodia in Siem Reap, Cambodia, for her international project.
