Clinton School grad Regina Wilkerson (’10), who recently began a job as outreach manager for the Girl Scouts, was profiled by the Daily Record, a local Arkansas newspaper.

Wilkerson, a native of Little Rock, attended Parkview High School where she fell in love with musicals. The performing arts had a huge impact on her and she always wanted to be on Broadway. However, she decided that marketing would be a sustainable college major and with that in mind, she attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
In 2005, Wilkerson says she “had a change of heart” with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. She was horrified by the lack of planning to get help to the victims in need. “That’s what got me thinking, I needed to do something. I needed to quit being so comfortable in the zone I’m living in and reach out and do something.” Wilkerson changed her major to politics and changed her life path.
When it came time for graduate school, Wilkerson was determined to attend New York University’s school of public service. She hoped to work in public administration and be close to Broadway. However, her family and friends nagged her about the Clinton School. Finally when a regular visit to the optometrist brought up the Clinton School Wilkerson said, “That was the last straw.” She applied for the Clinton School and got in.
