Graduate Hired as Public Outreach Coordinator for Planning Organization

Clinton School graduate Judy Watts (’11) was recently hired as public outreach coordinator with Metroplan in Little Rock. Metroplan works as a council of local governments and is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for transportation planning in Central Arkansas.

As public outreach coordinator, Watts will be involved with the Imagine Central Arkansas project to engage the public about what they would like to see to better their community 30 years from now.  She will serve as the key liaison between Metroplan and the community.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to not only collaborate with communities across Central Arkansas but to also incorporate sustainability practices into where we work and play,” Watts said. “Central Arkansas is going to emerge as a leader in better infrastructure and planned environments thanks to all the great input of all who live here.”

A native of Longview, Texas, Watts collaborated with the City of Little Rock Public Works Department to conduct research on current trends in curbside recycling programs for her final Clinton School project. She completed her international project in Castries, St. Lucia where she worked with a radio project focused on raising community awareness about the effects of climate change.
