Several local musicians played a concert Friday night in Little Rock to benefit the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. Clinton School student Ivanley Noisette, whose family is from Haiti, was part of a group, Arkansans 4 Haiti Relief, that organized the concert.
All proceeds from the $25 tickets to the event went to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. President Clinton released a statement lauding the organizers, including Noisette. Here’s an exerpt from Clinton’s statement:
I want to thank Governor and Mrs. Beebe, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas’ finest musicians and visual artists, Clinton School of Public Service student Ivan Noisette and and the many volunteers who made this night possible.
Before the earthquake, I truly believed that for the first time in my lifetime, Haiti had a chance to escape its past. And because of people like you, I still believe that. By your presence here tonight, you are truly saving lives and helping the Haitian people reclaim their destiny. Thank you.
