Posted by DEAN SKIP RUTHERFORD – After two wins Sunday, the Clinton School SOB’s (Students of Bill) are now 10-1. In their first season of play, they have moved to the “final four” kickball championship competition Sunday October 26 at Interstate Park. While not quite as dramatic as Boston’s 9th inning comeback in game five of the American League Championship series, the SOB’s were down 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the last inning before pulling out a 6-5 victory to move into the quarterfinals. Two hours later, after trailing most of the contest, the SOB’s rallied for a 7-6 “elite eight” victory and, as a result, now move to the “final four” next weekend.
With their only loss being a forfeit due to orientation week, the SOB’s are fun to watch. Thanks to Clinton School volunteers Caroline Stevenson and Bob Gee who showed up to cheer the team on. A shout out also to Chad Williamson, who organized the group and whose pitching and coaching skills have been instrumental in the team’s success.
