Posted by student CHAD WILLIAMSON – Well, it was a challenging day/night. However, we responded to the challenge! The SOB’s won the first game with a come from behind win…6-5. The game ball went to Nique Hall who drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth(last inning). The second game was another test as we fell behind 5-3 (on sketchy calls). We pulled ahead in the top of the fifthwith a three-run inning to make it 6-5. The top of the 6th was crucial, as Lindsey Barnett “I just kept running” was out at second as Jonathan Dunkley scored to make it 7-5. That pivitol play proved to be the winning strategy as we won 7-6.
On to the semifinals next week…we will keep you updated on the time and place. Thanks to our Clinton School volunteers that have become our “official” sponsors! You’re the best! Also, thanks to Dean and Mrs. Bille Rutherford for coming out to the games today…much appreciated. The Clinton School students have now proved that we can overcome adversity…shhhhh…championship?
