The Clinton School, in partnership with UALR, is preparing to host the 2010 IMPACT National Student Conference, the largest gathering in the country of socially-engaged college students who come together across diverse issues, perspectives and approaches to create social change.
On March 19-21, Little Rock will welcome college students, administrators, national non-profit organizations and socially-responsible companies to collaborate to address crucial issues facing the nation and the world.
Previous sites for the conference include Nashville, Tenn., Chicago, Boston and College Park, Md.
During the three-day conference, participants will have the opportunity to present at workshops, attend provoking plenary sessions, participate in a hunger banquet and network with others who are involved in service, activism, politics, advocacy and other socially-responsible work.
There will also be an Opportunities Fair with representatives from companies and non-profit agencies. Early registration is available through Jan. 22.
“We hope to have a strong local presence and share the work Arkansans are doing to engage with local, national and international communities,” said Clinton School student Lindsey Johnson, local outreach chair for the conference. “We’re expecting up to 1,000 people from across the country.”
