More Than Just a Cookbook

Posted by ERIC WILSON – The Junior League of Little Rock has produced a new cookbook, “Big Taste of Little Rock”. In addition to recipes, the book features commentary from several people including President and Secretary of State Clinton, Senator Mark Pryor, Senator and Mrs. Dale Bumpers, Congressman Vic Snyder, Little Rock Nine Member Ernie Green, State Representative Kathy Webb, Little Rock Central High School Principal Nancy Rousseau and Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford. Dean Rutherford was asked about a memorable time in Little Rock, and here’s what he wrote:

I will always remember November 18, 2004–the day we officially opened the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. After the opening, I had the privilege of escorting President and Mrs. Clinton, President and Mrs. George W. Bush, President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush and President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter on a library tour. Growing up, I never thought I would ever meet a President–much less know one. But on that special day, and for the first time in Little Rock’s history, four Presidents were here together.
