Posted by student CHAD WILLIAMSON – Students and faculty members attended the National Issues Forum at the Clinton Library to discuss important public policy issues. All 12 Presidential Libraries are participating in the initiative, which is sponsored by the National Archives and Records Administration. The issue discussed was “Coping with the Cost of Health Care: How Do We Pay for What We Need?”
Engaging discussions took place in a round table format with one trained facilitator in each group. Three students (Ali Turro, Alejandro Aviles and Julianne Dunn) and two faculty members (Christy Standerfer and Marie Lindquist) received the facilitation training and were vital components of the process. The next forum is on Oct. 6th (6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) at the Clinton School of Public Service, and the topic is “Too Many Children Left Behind: How Can We Close the Achievement Gap?” To make reservations, contact Kathleen Pate at (501) 244-2704 or kathleen.pate@nara.gov.
