Nillasithanukroh Joins Open Governance Lab as Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Songkhun (Sunny) Nillasithanukroh has joined the Clinton School of Public Service as a postdoctoral researcher in the Open Governance Lab.

“I am beyond excited to join the Open Governance Lab,” Nillasithanukroh said. “By collaborating with the faculty, students, and staff at the Clinton School of Public Service, I look forward to advancing cutting-edge research that promotes citizen-driven improvement in governance.”

Led by Dr. Chul Hyun Park and Dr. Robert Richards, the Open Governance Lab at the Clinton School of Public Service will investigate ways to make public service more participatory, effective, resilient, and secure in the digital era.

With a strong interest in political economy and political institutions, Nillasithanukroh is currently focused on two main research programs: enhancing citizen-government engagement through e-government initiatives to bolster governance, and delving into the intricate nexus of business, money, and politics.

Nillasithanukroh’s work has been published in Electoral Studies and the Oxford Handbook of Comparative Environmental Politics. He has received funding from the International Growth Centre in the UK for his research projects.

Nillasithanukroh completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at Duke University in 2023.
