The study compares 26 community and economic development organizations located in the Delta region of Arkansas and in New Orleans, to comparable areas in the Midwest and South. Using data on federal, state and foundation funding of these organizations, the study analyzes how the current economic recession has affected the financial stability of nonprofits serving communities targeted for revitalization.
