Presidential History

Clinton School students enjoyed a presentation Thursday night from renowned presidential historian Michael Beschloss who spoke as part of the Frank and Kula Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture Series.

Beschloss also took time Friday morning to visit with Clinton School students and local high school students from the Little Rock area.

Beschloss is NBC News’ presidential historian and appears regularly on Meet the Press, Today and other NBC News programs. He is also the author of many best-selling books including “Presidential Courage: Brave Leaders and How They Changed America, 1789-1989,” which describes crucial times when courageous presidents took career-threatening risks and overcame obstacles to dramatically change the future of the United States.

The event also served as the launch of the new Clinton Center exhibit, “Headed to the White House,” an interactive, multimedia exhibit that presents the issues and candidates from some of the country’s most historic Presidential elections.

The exhibit was produced by the National Constitution Center with funding provided by the Annenberg Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Learn more at www.clintonpresidentialcenter.org.

Video of the lecture will be posted soon at www.clintonschoolspeakers.com.
