The Office of Community Engagement at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service is currently accepting field service project proposals for the 2020-21 academic year. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 16.

The projects are part of the Clinton School’s Practicum program, which takes teams of first-year students into Arkansas communities to foster community development and social change in areas such as such as economic development, environmental awareness, public education, youth leadership development, and health improvement.

Applications received by the March 16 deadline will be considered for the upcoming academic year. Click here to start your application.

Teams of first-year Clinton School students complete Practicum projects in partnership with public agencies, community initiatives, academic ventures, and nonprofit organizations across the state. Click here to learn more about the projects selected for the 2019-20 academic year.

As part of the school’s Master of Public Service degree program, the students earn academic credit for their work on three major field service projects.

In addition to the team-based Practicum project, the International Public Service Project (IPSP) places students with international organizations across the world during the summer after their first year, and the final Capstone project allows second-year students to work with an approved organization of their choosing to put their learned skills to use with a government, for-profit, or nonprofit agency of their choosing.

Twenty-five percent of the MPS degree curriculum comes from direct field service learning.
