Clinton School graduate Nancy Mancilla shares good news that her sustainability consulting firm, ISOS Group, made major news last week when it released a report on Bucyrus International Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of surface and underground mining equipment.
Bucyrus stock rose significantly after ISOS Group’s external audit of the company’s sustainability data confirmed a B+ rating, providing evidence that sustainable business practices are a positive in the modern marketplace. Here’s more information from an ISOS Group press release:
ISOS Group was contracted by Bucyrus International Inc. to conduct external assurance of the inaugural report for the 2009 calendar year. The scope of the assurance covered the economic, social and environmental performance data, both quantitatively and qualitatively expressed on behalf of Bucyrus International’s headquarters and subsidiaries. ISOS Group’s comprehensive approach verified that all data was collected in a consistent manner and reported in accordance with the GRI’s G3 Guidelines. Assurance activities also confirmed the absence of discrepancies and controversies that could conflict with the reported.
