Posted by ERIC WILSON – With 10 13 counties declared disaster areas in Arkansas, “giving up a Saturday to volunteer is a no-brainer,” according to the Clinton School students who traveled to Atkins to help the victims of Super Tuesday’s tornados. Hundreds of other Arkansans felt the same way and flooded the area providing food, clothing, machinery and helping hands.
Most of the day was spent rummaging through the debris in hopes of salvaging anything amidst the destruction and burning the rest. However, the highlights were the moments when we had a chance to visit with some of Atkins’ residents. Pictured below with Clinton School student, Tim Giattina, is 11 year-old, Keller Woody, of Atkins. Upon celebrating his birthday earlier in the week, Woody decided to donate all his presents to kids whose houses didn’t make it through Super Tuesday. Amazed by this young person’s generosity, I told him to look up the Clinton School after he graduates from college and promised him a strong recommendation.
