Scholar Visits

William J. Clinton Distinguished Scholar Avind Singhal, who will return to the Clinton School this spring to teach Dynamics of Social Change, spent time today with Clinton School students on a brief visit to Little Rock.

Students chatted with Singhal about their International Public Service Projects and other public service issues.

An endowed professor of communication and director of research and outreach for the Sam Donaldson Center for Communication Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Singhal served as a visiting scholar at the Clinton School beginning last year.

Singhal is a prominent scholar and researcher on the subject of Positive Deviance, a social change theory that looks for answers to a community’s problems by examining positive outliers – those whose uncommon behavior overcome the odds and presents social proof that local, sustainable solutions exist and are readily available to others in the community.
