Stimulus Funds to Help ‘Green’ Clinton School

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Gov. Mike Beebe today announced $270,000 in federal stimulus funds will go toward “greening” the Clinton School’s historic Choctaw Station.

Part of $42 million allocated for renovation and expansion of Arkansas higher education facilities, the funds will pay for implementing sustainable operations and maintenance practices and to reduce the environmental impact of the building.

Upon completion of the project, the school expects the building to receive LEED certification for Existing Buildings from the U.S. Green Building Council, said Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford. CLICK HERE to read more.
