Student to Discuss International Project

Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Clinton School student Lindsey Barnett will attend a clean water conference at the University of Oklahoma today to discuss her work this summer on a water development project in Belize.

The focus of Barnett’s presentation at the International WaTER conference will be on the application of the Rand Corporation’s Getting to Outcomes (GTO) model in service learning and its application to water development projects.

For her International Public Service Project, Barnett traveled to Belize City to examine the Clean Water Initiative for the Peacework Village Network, a non-profit specializing in the facilitation of service learning projects for university students abroad.

Barnett will discuss the importance of well-executed service learning from the perspective of someone experiencing it first-hand.
