Students File for Delegate Slots

Posted by DEAN SKIP RUTHERFORD – Two Clinton School students have filed to be Arkansas delegates to the Democratic National Convention this summer in Denver.

J.D. Lowery of Maumelle  filed to be a Hillary Clinton delegate and Sanford Johnson of Helena filed to be a Barack Obama delegate.

J.D., a graduate of the University of Arkansas, worked on Governor Mike Beebe’s staff before coming to the Clinton School. Sanford, a graduate of Auburn University, taught at Helena’s KIPP school before entering the Clinton School.

With young people engaging in the 2008 Presidential campaign in record numbers, it’s encouraging to see these two outstanding Clinton School students participating. I’m proud of both of them.
