Six Clinton School students will travel to Newport, Ark., tomorrow for the annual Delta Visual Arts Show. For the second consecutive year, a team of students has been working with the Newport community to lay the groundwork for a community visual arts center to help spur economic development in the city’s downtown are.
After last year’s inaugural event drew 13 delta artists to showcase their work, this year’s event will feature more than 30 artists. Traveling to Newport are Class of 2010 students Emily Fischer, Todd Moore and Joanna Klak who completed their 2008-09 Practicum project there, along with Class of 2011 students PatricK Banks, William Jeter and Sarah Leer who have been working there this year.
