Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – Dr. Ivye Allen, President and CEO of the Foundation for the Mid South, presented her research on community philanthropy today to a group of students and faculty at the Clinton School. She discussed examples of community philanthropy that she has seen across the world and her foundation’s work to duplicate those efforts in the impoverished Mississippi River delta.
Dr. Allen served as the Center on Community Philanthropy’s first “Scholar in Residence,” a new program that brings guest scholars to the Clinton School to research and discuss community-spawned philanthropy.
Dr. Allen has an extensive background in philanthropy emphasizing economic development, community development, and systems change. The Foundation for the Mid South works to promote racial, social, and economic equity in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
