We attended this morning’s groundbreaking of the new Clinton Park Bridge. Work to convert the former Rock Island Railroad Bridge into a pedestrian/bike bridge will begin in July.
President Clinton and Gov. Mike Beebe spoke at the ceremony about the bridge and its economic impact on Little Rock and Arkansas. Clinton School students, faculty and staff took part in the festivities.
Once completed, the bridge will close the east end of the River Trail along the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock and North Little Rock. The popular Big Dam Bridge anchors the west end of the trail.
