“Bridge to War Eagle: Stories of a Wild Stream,” a documentary film screening

– Emmy-winning filmmakers Larry Foley and Dale Carpenter will screen and discuss their new documentary film, “Bridge to War Eagle,” a collection of poignant stories framed by the old steel bridge and iconic grist mill on War Eagle Creek in the Ozark Hills. The film is narrated by country music star Joe Nichols of Rogers, Ark., who has been visiting War Eagle Creek his entire life.

– Freedman is CEO and founder of Civic Ventures, a think tank on boomers, work and social purpose. He spearheaded the creation of Experience Corps, one of America’s largest nonprofit national service programs engaging people over 55. He will discuss his book, “The Big Shift,” which encourages boomers to embrace their new stage in life.
Peggy Cornett, curator of plants at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello

– Cornett has worked on the grounds of Monticello since 1983 and became curator of plants in 2009. She appears regularly on the PBS series “Virginia Home Grown” and is editor of Magnolia, the quarterly publication of the Southern Garden History Society.
