Posted by BEN BEAUMONT – While the Clinton School Speaker Series is always free and open to the public, we “passed the hat” two weeks ago at a program featuring ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff for the tornado victims in Atkins and Clinton, Ark., as well as for the victims of the political violence in Kenya. The more than 1,000 people in attendance for that program gave generously, and we raised more than $7,500 to divide evenly for both worthy causes. Today, Clinton School director of administration Dianne Kelly presented a check for $3,787 to Candy Carey of the American Red Cross for the tornado relief efforts. Several Clinton School students have also traveled to Atkins to help with the clean up.
