University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service graduate Brandon Treviño recently joined the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Behavioral Health Services as a program coordinator.
Working alongside his twin brother and fellow graduate of the Clinton School, Andrew Treviño, State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Project Director, the brothers are addressing opioid addiction in Arkansas.
“I am very humbled to have the opportunity to work on issues of such personal importance after losing my older brother Eric to addiction,” Brandon Treviño said. “I am also aware that this opportunity wouldn’t have come about without the connections and skills I developed through the Clinton School.”
Brandon is helping to carry out of tasks for the State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Grant (STR) and the State Opioid Response Grant (SOR), as well as assisting the program manager of the Drug and Alcohol Safety Educational Program (DASEP) and Specialized Women’s Services (SWS).
Both Treviño brothers will earn their Juris Doctors from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in May.
The Division of Behavioral Health Services is responsible for ensuring the provision of public behavioral health services, including mental health and substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery services throughout the State of Arkansas.
