On November 22, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s (UALR) Green Dot program and the Clinton School of Public Service will be sponsoring Orange the World Day, by hosting events and encouraging people on campus and in the community to wear orange.
Orange the World Day is part of a 16-day campaign initiated and led by the UNITE campaign Global Youth Network. Worldwide activities implemented during this campaign highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.
Friday, November 22
ALL DAY – Wear orange! Wear orange to take a stand on ending violence against women and girls.
ALL DAY – Loblolly Creamery Orange the World Orange Sherbet (The Green Corner Store – 1423 Main St., Little Rock, AR 72202). A percentage of the sales of this sherbet will be donated to UALR’s Green Dot program. The Green Dot initiative is about creating a safe campus environment through the power of community.
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Green Dot overview (Bailey Alumni and Friends Center – UALR campus on 28th St. Free parking in Lot 13). Learn more Green Dot and how to prevent violence on campus and in your community.
2:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Resource Fair (Bailey Alumni and Friends Center – UALR campus on 28th St. Free parking in Lot 13). Learn about the resources and services in our area focused on violence prevention and support for survivors of violence.
Saturday, November 13
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Volunteer event at Women & Children First. We will be sorting donations to help Women & Children First prepare for the holidays. if you would like to volunteer, RSVP to Katie Powell at klpowell@clintonschool.uasys.edu.
