The Arkansas Bar Association has been announced as a recipient of the National Association of Bar Executives/LexisNexis Community and Educational Outreach Award for its work on the inaugural Public Service Academy.
The inaugural Public Service Academy was co-hosted by the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and Clinton School graduates Maggie Benson (’14) and Nate Looney (’12) served as chairs for the academy.
The LexisNexis Community and Educational Outreach Awards honor outstanding bar public service and law-related education programs across the country. Two bar associations were selected as winners from the category recognizing state bar associations or statewide specialty bars with 18,000 or fewer members. The award will be presented virtually during the NABE’s annual meeting in February.
The Public Service Academy was created for member lawyers, law students, and those interested in public service, including on school boards and city councils, with volunteer organizations or in the legislative, judicial, or executive branch. The inaugural class was announced in November 2019.
An independent, not-for-profit organization, the National Association of Bar Executives (NABE) was founded in 1941 to serve the management staff of bar associations and law-related organizations. Its mission is to enhance the skills and enrich the careers of bar association professionals.
