Today begins a series of festivities honoring the Clinton School Class of 2009 — 30 aspiring public servants who we will unleash on the world after a commencement ceremony this Saturday

The United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD) recently hired 2006 Clinton School graduate, David Morrissey, as its new Executive Director.

Congrats to Clinton School student Sarah Argue, who has been hired as the Director of Program Development at The Colon Club, a national non-profit seeking to promote colorectal cancer awareness and education.

Clinton School graduate Mollie Merry recently launched a new environmental education initiative in Memphis, Tenn., public schools, where she works for BRIDGES, a youth leadership development program.

Clinton School student Erin Jones has accepted a job with the South East Asia Center in Chicago where she will teach and develop curriculum. The center focuses on helping immigrants in the area, the majority of whom are from Asia. Erin joins several of her fellow Class 3 students in successfully navigating the job market during these tough economic times.

Mike Townsend, a 2007 graduate of the Clinton School, recently landed a new job as a volunteer engagement coordinator for Habitat for Hummanity’s work in Africa and the Middle East.

Clinton School student Penelope Sur has joined Maybelline as the assistant to the company’s president. In her new position, Penelope will be working on recruitment and community outreach. Maybelline currently employs 600 people in its facility which is located about 20 miles from downtown Little Rock.

Inaugural Clinton School graduate David Morrissey has been named the new executive director of the United States International Council on Disabilities. David previously served as a Disability Policy Leadership Fellow at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities.

Clinton School student Jay Thompson has accepted a position as Neighbors Project Coordinator at George Washington University. Thompson will be managing a more than 1,000-student volunteer placement program at GW, working with 35 community agencies.

Congrats to Clinton School graduate Scott Curran and his wife Amy who welcomed their first child, Raymond Christopher Curran, into the world this weekend. Word is both mom a baby are doing well. Scott now works as deputy general counsel for the William J. Clinton Foundation. Congrats Currans!
