Clinton School Announces Bruce R. Lindsey Scholarship for Public Service

The Clinton School of Public Service has announced the creation of the Bruce R. Lindsey Scholarship for Public Service, an endowed scholarship that honors Bruce R. Lindsey’s career of impactful leadership.

For more than four decades, Lindsey has exemplified public service, working behind the scenes with integrity and dedication. Whether serving as a trusted advisor to President Bill Clinton, CEO of the Clinton Foundation, or as a mentor to generations of public servants, Lindsey has exemplified “Putting People First.”

His legacy is one defined not by the spotlight, but by a steadfast commitment to impact. The Bruce R. Lindsey Scholarship for Public Service is both a tribute to his extraordinary career and an investment in future leaders who share his commitment to advancing the common good.

The scholarship will support future generations of students at the Clinton School and will empower those who work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to make a difference in their communities.

“Bruce has been an invaluable partner in my time as Dean, both as a trusted advisor and as a friend,” Dean Victoria M. DeFrancesco Soto said. “Bruce’s commitment to public service and to the mission of the Clinton School has shaped our work in profound ways. As a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board, he brings a unique blend of institutional knowledge, strategic insight, and unwavering support that continues to strengthen our path forward.”

The scholarship was established with an initial gift from alumnus Scott Curran (’06) and his family, Lindsey is a mentor to Curran, who was a member of the Clinton School’s inaugural class and previously served as general counsel of the Clinton Foundation.

“Bruce Lindsey has shaped generations of public servants simply by the way he has shown up – with steadiness, humility, and as a quiet force for good,” Curran said. “His example reminds us that enduring impact is made possible by those working behind the scenes, often without fanfare or a spotlight. I hope this scholarship inspires others to lead lives and careers of the kind of service Bruce personifies.”

The school’s goal is to fully endow the scholarship, and invites those who have worked with Lindsey, been mentored by him, or been moved by his example to contribute to the scholarship fund. This scholarship will support generations of students and inspire them to follow in Bruce Lindsey’s footsteps as a public servant.
