Concurrent Law Students Taking on Law Clerkships in Spring and Summer

Several of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service students pursuing concurrent law degrees from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law are taking on clerkships, fellowships, and internships with law firms and organizations this spring and summer.

Below is a closer look at their work:

Corinne Kwapis – Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office

Kwapis is currently clerking in the Complaints Department in the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. This summer, she plans to be a Rule XV law clerk in North Little Rock District Court. She will assist in the prosecution of misdemeanor cases as well as coordinate witnesses and collaborate with municipal law enforcement to obtain evidence and officer testimony.

Wes Manus – Winrock International

Manus is spending this semester working as a General Counsel intern for Winrock International. In that role, Manus works on a range of legal issues, including intellectual property, real property, legal entities, taxation, and learning how to manage outside counsel.

Shelby Morrow – Association of Arkansas Counties

This summer, Morrow begins a year-long clerkship with the Association of Arkansas Counties as a policy clerk. She will assist with research, write bills for the spring legislative session, and help educate people on what those bills might mean in the context of their counties and communities.

Aisosa Osaretin – The Buchanan Firm, P.A.

Osaretin is a legal assistant at The Buchanan Firm, P.A., where she conducts legal research on mostly personal injury, but also on contracts and criminal cases. Additionally, she drafts legal documents and demand letters, and collects and records related exhibits.

Alexis Pinkston – Pulaski County Attorney’s Office

Pinkston is working with the Pulaski County Attorney’s Office on legal issues concerning appeals of property assessments. She attends court frequently for bond forfeiture hearings with her supervising attorney.

Christian Scott-Richards – Arkansas Division of Information Systems

Scott-Richards is currently clerking at the Arkansas Division of Information Systems (DIS) with an official title of Senior Technical Writer. She works with the Arkansas Department of Transformation and Shared Services (TSS), focusing mostly on Arkansas FOIA law and code revisions for TSS to match past policies with new policies set by the Secretary of TSS.

Connor Thompson – Arkansas Municipal League

Thompson is a litigation law clerk working in the Municipal Legal Defense Program (MLDP) in North Little Rock, an organization that defends Arkansas municipalities involved in litigation. His work consists of assisting the attorneys with legal research and drafting briefs and pleadings.

Jerome Wilson – Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office

Wilson is a clerk at the 6th Judicial District, Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He splits his time between the Complaints Department and the Pulaski County District Court, dividing his efforts between taking complaints from citizens regarding misdemeanor offenses and assisting the prosecutor assigned to PCDC in a clerical role.
