University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service graduate Regina Taylor has been announced as the new Chief Community Initiatives Officer for the Arkansas Foodbank.
“I know firsthand how food insecurity can impact communities,” Taylor said. “As a former youth program director, I am grateful for feeding programs that allowed the youth in my neighborhood to have access to hot, healthy meals each day.”
In her new role, Taylor is responsible for strategic planning and oversight of all community initiatives activities. This includes Volunteer Engagement and Food for Kids programming.
Food for Kids encompasses after-school and summer feeding programs as well as the Arkansas Foodbank’s back pack programs and school pantries. Taylor will also work to implement strategies to improve the nutritional quality and education of foodbank programming through workshops, community outreach efforts, training, and advocacy.
“I’m committed to continuing the work the Arkansas Foodbank started over 35 years ago to help provide pathways to connect people, resources and food to reach those in need. I’m excited that this position provides me the opportunity develop strategy, implement programming, and build partnerships to address one of Arkansas’ most critical needs.”
Taylor, a 2010 graduate of the Clinton School, previously worked as the Volunteer Experience Director for Girl Scouts Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas since 2015. She was the Executive Program Director of Greater Second Care Center, Inc. from 2013-15.
