In addition to March Madness, it’s spring break at the Clinton School. While there will be no classes Monday through Friday, the faculty and staff will be working. Several of our students will head to Birmingham, Ala., later in the week for the wedding of one of their classmates, Russ Swearingen.

Fourteen Clinton School students have returned from CGI U in New Orleans. Reports from the event have been good. We missed this article from the Associated Press on Friday that highlighted a commitment from Clinton School student Hunter Riley to start and supply equipment to youth soccer teams in Cameroon. Hunter’s commitment is mentioned in the introduction of an interview with President Clinton about the CGI U conference.

Led by the work of students Sarah Argue, Julie West and Chance Williams, the Clinton School’s Arkansas DeltaMade Marketplace on Sunday was a huge success. Co-hosted by Arkansas First Lady Ginger Beebe, the market welcomed hundreds of attendees, saw thousands in sales and raised awareness for some of Arkansas’s finest homemade products.

Arkansas First Lady Ginger Beebe, Clinton School graduate Fay Kelle and the beloved Flat Stanley visited Hackett Elementary School in Hackett, Ark., to encourage the children there to read and learn about other cultures. Mrs. Beebe shared the story of Flat Stanley, the popular children’s book character, with the K-2nd grade students in Hackett. She encouraged them to read “The Adventures of Flat Stanley” and to learn from Flat’s experiences.
