Members of the Clinton School Class of 2010 are preparing for their summer International Public Service Projects that will take them all over the world to tackle issues such as poverty, health care expansion, environmental awareness and educational attainment, among others.

Six Clinton School students presented a report last week to Heifer International about the community desires and needs surrounding the nonprofit’s new education center, Heifer Village.

Clinton School student Nicholas Hall’s idea continues to make headlines. Hall’s emerging nonprofit Volunteer to See, which combines his passions of travel and service, is the subject of an article by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.

Clinton School student Jennifer Hicks is hosting a fundraiser to support her summer International Public Service Project in Moshi, Tanzania, where she will be doing outreach for Amani Children’s Home, an orphanage that rescues children from the perils of life on the streets, where they face a high risk of HIV transmission, malnutrition, and abuse.

The event was organized by the Delta Visual Arts Center Committee and myself along with classmates Joanna Klak and Todd Moore.  We have been working on developing the Center since August, and this event was the public culmination of our efforts.

Funds raised will go toward providing 140 households with reliable access to clean, drinking water in their homes and improving basic sanitation infrastructure in the villages. To give a donation to Josh’s efforts

Led by the work of three Clinton School students, Newport’s planned Delta Visual Arts Center will host a spring art event on Saturday, March 7.

Clinton School student Dimas Espinola is fundraising to support his summer International Public Service Project in Accra, Ghana, where he will be working with Unite For Sight, a nonprofit that empowers communities to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness.
