A group of Clinton School students, faculty and staff toured the future home of the school’s River Market Campus this morning. The school will have two classrooms, a conference room and office space on the third floor of the old Budget Office Building, which is being renovated as part of the Central Arkansas Library System’s new Center for Arkansas Studies.

With 10 13 counties declared disaster areas in Arkansas, “giving up a Saturday to volunteer is a no-brainer,” according to the Clinton School students who traveled to Atkins to help the victims of Super Tuesday’s tornados. Hundreds of other Arkansans felt the same way and flooded the area providing food, clothing, machinery and helping hands.

Afterwards, Clinton School student, Sanford Johnson, joined a diverse panel focusing on education. Johnson taught with Teach for America at Helena’s KIPP school. He hopes to take his experience at the Clinton School and return to the Delta to make a difference.
