The German ambassador to the United States Klaus Scharioth spoke today at the Clinton School about the importance of German transatlantic relations with the United States. Currently on a tour of U.S. southern state, Scharioth was named ambassador to the United States by Chancellor Angela Merkel in March 2006 after 30 years in the Foreign Service.

The Clinton School is hosting its first ever Field Service Conference to raise awareness for the service learning component of the school’s unique curriculum. Every year, the school and it’s students partner with a number of government and nonprofit organizations to complete for-credit public service projects. Thirty percent of the school’s curriculum is completed through these projects.
