The earthquake that rocked the coast of Haiti killed or injured a devastating number of people. Even more were left in need of aid, making this is one of the great humanitarian emergencies in the history of the Americas. In the aftermath of the disaster, President Barack Obama asked President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush to raise funds for immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts to help those who are most in need of food, water, shelter, medical care, and support.

Clinton School students invite members of the Little Rock community to join them for a “Hope for Haiti Cell Phone Light Vigil” for victims of last week’s earthquake. The vigil is planned for 5:30 p.m. tonight on the lawn of Sturgis Hall, the Clinton School’s main campus.

Ivan’s parents immigrated from Haiti to the United States and much of his extended family still lives in the impoverished country.
