Clinton School students were eager Tuesday to participate in the activities surrounding the Clinton Center fifth anniversary celebration. While several of his classmates participated in the Clinton Center Community Service Project, Patrick Banks delivered a speech to the Downtown Little Rock Rotary Club about his experience at the school.

Anniversary Eve

Celebration activities continue today on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Clinton Center. Several Clinton School students and staff are participating in today’s Clinton Center Community Service Project, which will take them across the community to perform public service.

The Clinton School joined Heifer International on Saturday to host “Idea Aid: The World’s First Brainstorm to Tackle Global Poverty,” which brought together people from across the world to try and raise $1 billion annual in the fight against poverty and hunger.

Picture Perfect

Clinton School student Ali Turro can now add the title of published photographer to her resume. Next summer, Viking/Penguin Publishing will release “The Price of Stones,” written by Twesigye Jackson Kaguri. The book’s cover will feature a photograph that Turro took this summer while completing her International Public Service Project in Uganda.

Arkansas Literacy Councils Net Grant

The Verizon Foundation today presented a $5,500 grant to Arkansas Literacy Councils (ALC) for the research and creation of a literacy tutor training manual, a project being completed by three students from the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.
