*Effective Wednesday, we’ve received the ok to expand into our new River Market campus within walking distance of Sturgis Hall. We’ll be working on the move throughout the winter break and holidays. The new facility, across the street from the River Market on President Clinton Avenue, will provide additional classroom, meeting and office space. We’re planning to have some of our classes there beginning in January.

Question: How is the Clinton School responding to the economic downturn?
Answer: “Hope for the best but plan for the worst” is an adage we should all follow during these difficult times. State funding, it appears, will be basically flat for the next couple of years. That’s not unexpected, and I just hope Arkansas can avoid the major higher education cuts some states are experiencing.

Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford, in a interview with John Brummett of Stephen’s Media, recently discussed President-elect Barack Obama’s tapping of Rahm Emanuel as the future White House Chief of Staff. Rutherford and Emanuel worked together on Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign and went on to work together on issues in the Clinton White House, namely the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
