Clinton School student Lukman Arsalan, a native of Jordan, returned home this month to attend a conference of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), a U.S. supported effort to increase political and social development in the region.

A group of Clinton School students, faculty and staff toured the future home of the school’s River Market Campus this morning. The school will have two classrooms, a conference room and office space on the third floor of the old Budget Office Building, which is being renovated as part of the Central Arkansas Library System’s new Center for Arkansas Studies.

Kenyan Ambassador to the United States Peter Ogego spoke today at the Clinton School about the post-election crisis that has plagued his country in recent months. Ogego was booked to speak at the school more than a year ago and said that, in light of the crisis, he decided to use his visit as an opportunity to discuss lessons that can be learned from Kenya’s problems.

With 10 13 counties declared disaster areas in Arkansas, “giving up a Saturday to volunteer is a no-brainer,” according to the Clinton School students who traveled to Atkins to help the victims of Super Tuesday’s tornados. Hundreds of other Arkansans felt the same way and flooded the area providing food, clothing, machinery and helping hands.
